Jersey Shore Suspect Nailed For Using Knife, Then Handgun

A real estate agent from Landenberg, PA, was nailed on charges of using a knife then a gun, authorities said.

Sherry Lee Heffernan, 55, is to remain detained in the Ocean County Jail pending trial on two counts of murder relative to the deaths of John Enders and Francoise Pitoy in Surf City on or about Sept. 29, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. 

Heffernan also is charged with possession of a weapon, specifically a knife. and possession of a weapon, specifically a handgun, Billhimer said.

On Oct. 4, Heffernan was taken into custody by the Pennsylvania State Police at her residence in Landenberg, the prosecutor said.

On Oct. 20, Heffernan was returned to New Jersey and has been held in the Ocean County Jail since that date, Billhimer said.
